BFA DEGREE ADMISSION 2023 - 2024

Online application for 4-year BFA degree in Painting, Sculpture, Applied Art, Art History & Visual Studies can be submitted till 2023 July 12. With the boom in advertising, the popularity of electronic media, the challenges of designing websites, and innovations in fields such as multimedia and gaming, applied art is now very important. Fine Arts graduates also have opportunities for a variety of design training at institutions including the National Institute of Design.

Eligibility


Candidates who have cleared Plus Two / Equivalent examination in any subject can apply. There is no minimum mark requirement. Should have completed 17 years on 31st December 2023. There is no upper age limit. First year is general classes followed by specialization in any branch. The branch of specialization will be decided at the beginning of the second year considering the performance in the first year university examination and the interest of the student. Seats will be allotted in the ratio of 1:2:3 in Sculpture, Painting and Applied Art. Art Historians will be admitted to that course in the first year itself.

Annual fee is around Rs.3200.

3. College of Fine Arts, University of Calicut, Thrissur - 680 020, 48 seats. 7 seats for Art History & Visual Studies only here.

Interest in this should be added to the application.
The reservation system of the Kerala government will be followed for admission to the professional college. 5% seats are reserved for differently abled persons. A seat is specially available in some institution for children of veterans in Kerala. There are 2 additional seats for transgender category.

Selection Criteria


Aptitude Test consists of 4 parts including written and practical. Painting, Sculpture and Applied Arts candidates should write parts 1, 2 and 4. It is 4 and half hours in total, 225 marks. Those who are interested in Art History & Visual Studies only can write Part 2 and Part 3 – 75 minutes, 105 marks. Those attempting all 4 branches have to write all 4 parts – 5/4 hours, 305 marks. Examination centers are Thiruvananthapuram, Mavelikara, Thrissur and Kozhikode. Apply online at www.admissions.dtekerala.gov.in.
